After years of being away, the lightning bruiser from Brazil is back. That’s right Street Fighter fans, Blanka is coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition as downloadable DLC.

Blanka is an iconic and fan favorite character in the franchise, evening appearing in the old Street Fighter cartoon. He was introduced all the way back in Street Fighter II, but hasn’t been seen in any of the main franchise games since Street Fighter IV almost ten years ago.

Based on footage from the gameplay trailers, it looks like he’ll be using his usual moveset from past games, including many of his famous rolling attacks. His two V Trigger moves are VI Jungle Dynamo and VII Lightning Beast. 

The Blanka DLC will be debuting next week and he can be purchased individually with either real money or in-game currency. However, if you already own the Season 3 character pass, which is currently available, you will be free to download him and Sakura (who is already available), along with future DLC characters like Faulke, G, Sagat, and Cody.

Like all the new DLC characters for Street Fighter V, Blanka will have three different costumes when he launches. The Battle Costume is included with any download of the character himself, but the Blanka Story and Nostalgia Costumes must be purchased separately.
