Fortnite Mobile Players Spend More Than $1 Million In Game’s First 72 Hours

Once again, this week’s headlines were dominated by PUBG and Fortnite. Each game debuted their mobile games and each set records doing so. Both games are sitting on top of the iOS downloads charts and Fortnite has already grossed more than $1.5 million in total. That’s nearly 28 times as much as its closest competitor.

PUBG Mobile hasn’t turned on in-game transactions yet, but rest assured that when it does, you’ll be reading another article about how much money it’s making. And don’t forget, PUBG Mobile is available on Android too, meaning its gross numbers are likely to be a lot higher than Fortnite’s, which is currently still in invite-only mode on iOS.

Ubisoft Finally Gets Control of Its Company Back

Since 2015, Ubisoft has been in the uncomfortable position of fending off the possibility of a hostile takeover from Vivendi. Luckily for them, Vivendi finally sold its shares back to the original owners just this week. That means that Ubisoft is back in the hands of the Guillemot brothers, the original founders of the company.

100 Thieves Takes Over First Place In the NA LCS

The 2018 League of Legends Spring split had some of the most chaotic final numbers of any split ever. Echo Fox dominated the up until the last couple weeks when cracks began to show. 100 Thieves on the other hand, they looked like they were clad in Warmog’s Armor. Seemingly every time you blinked, their entire team was at full health, beating down the competition thanks largely to incredible play from Aphromoo in particular.

When the dust of the spring split settled, 100 Thieves found themselves in first, Echo Fox had to settle for second, and Cloud9 was just able to eek out a playoff spot.

The Best Thing on the Internet, This Week

Remastered Dark Souls Screenshots Are Here

Courtesy of the Japanese magazine Famitsu, fans of Dark Souls now get a look at what the Remastered game will look like. The screens don’t show much, but it does look noticeably better than its predecessor. Sen’s Fortress, for one, looks more obviously rusted and aged, but that might be the effect of the lighting or just us misremembering because we were busy trying not to roll off the catwalk. Either way, these shots have us more hyped than ever for the new game.
