Summit1g Streams with Jake Paul and Fans Aren’t Happy

Popular Twitch streamer Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar, stirred up quite a controversy when he invited YouTube’s Jake Paul to a stream of Fortnite. The steam itself didn’t contain anything controversial, but fans of Summit1g were not happy to see Jake Paul. Many of his fans criticized or chose to unfollow Summit1g for having the Youtuber on his stream.

Summit1g not only defended Jake Paul, but he responded to his fans’ complaints by lashing out at them. Or as the eloquent Jake Paul would say, he “Dabbed on ’em haters!”

Of course, this only escalated things even further and even more fans turned on Summit1g, not because they were upset at Jake Paul’s presence, but because they were turned off by Summit1g’s arrogant behavior.

Summit1g Reddit Hate

Reddit reacts to Summit1g

A Reddit thread discussing the backlash popped up recently and fans are voicing their disdain as loud as they can. Former fan hockey7331 said in a comment, “Don’t care who [Summit1g] plays with, but I unfollowed him today when I saw how he was acting towards the people who support him financially. On twitter, and on twitch.”

It makes sense that a streamer like Summit1g would be open to having a “famous” person appear in their stream in order to gain exposure and more subscribers. After all, Ninja had Drake on a stream earlier this year and that went pretty well for him; but a guy like Jake Paul might not be the best choice for attracting good publicity.

The Paul brothers are two of the most controversial figures on Youtube. Who could forget when the older Paul brother, Logan, kicked off the new year by posting a video of the dead body of a Japanese man who had just killed himself.

Jake Paul Loser

While younger brother Jake hasn’t quite reached the level of infamy of his brother, he has earned a terrible reputation both as a Youtuber and as a member of the human race. Just last year Disney severed ties with Jake Paul after news came out that the Youtuber had been terrorizing his neighbor and burning furniture outside of his mansion, which Paul had been renting for a cool $17,459 a month. Not to mention TMZs video of Jake Paul saying the N word…twice.

Even ignoring the controversy surrounding Jake Paul, Summit1g certainly didn’t have the best reaction to his fans’ grievances. As of now, Summit1g is taking a break from streaming. Maybe some time off is what he needs to clear his head and possibly find a way to win back his supporters.

Needless to say, it’ll be an uphill battle. He’s left a lot of people who used to call themselves fans feeling bitter and resentful.
