Super Smash Bros. for the Switch and More the March Nintendo Direct

Super Smash Bros. is coming to the Switch, finally. Smash has grown into one of Nintendo’s marquee console games and we’ve been waiting on bated breath for any sign that it was making it’s way to the Switch. After a year of anticipation, Nintendo finally delivered with a short teaser at the very end of this week’s Direct event.

There’s no official title yet, but we do know the game is slated for a 2018 release. Beyond that, not much was revealed in the roughly 30 second teaser.

Normally when a company goes public – which means you can buy stock in it – it is the start of great things and great success, but it hasn’t looked that way for Rovio. Unlike most other esports, OWL has regionally-based teams (though they all play in Los Angeles for now).  Morhaime’s hope is that this model will lead to more fans and more revenue for the teams’ owners.

Shanghai Dragons Part Ways With Coach Chen Congshan

The Shanghai Dragons and their coach, Chen Congshan, are officially parting ways. The team made the announcement on their Twitter page and added that assistant coach Sun Jun Young would be taking his place on an at least temporary basis.

The news comes on the heels of yet another disappointing weekend for the squad. They are officially the only team in the Overwatch League who have yet to win a match. They’re easily the worst team in OWL and they’ve put up one of the worst seasons we’ve ever seen in professional esports.
