Dumbest Ways to Die in PUBG

There are plenty of stupid ways to die in Battle Royales. We’ve all seen the rage compilations for PUBG, and if even guys like Ninja lose their cool, then the average player is entitled to a few rage-worthy moments. That said, you can definitely make it harder by playing stupidly. Battle Royales are tough enough, so there’s no reason to make it even harder on yourself. Here are some of the dumbest ways to die.

PUBG camping

Campers are always watching.

Remember, you are not alone. There are far too many times when the excitement of the moment gets a player amped up and they seem to entirely forget that there are more players than just the one they are fighting. Chasing a kill is probably the number one way players get killed. Whether it is running into an open field or chasing someone from the cover of a house into the exposure of a large building, you are going to die when you lose your cover. The number one rule to winning a Battle Royale is prioritizing protection over kills, so unless you are going for that Youtube video kill count, just let some of them go and be thankful it didn’t cost you anything.

Coupled with this are the players that manage to get one kill and then think they are safe. Yes, we all know you’re excited to rack up that kill count and buy PUBG items, but stay focused. For all the 1v1s going on, there are going to be scavengers waiting to pick off the winner. Patience is a virtue in PUBG, so wait to see if the coast is clear before you rush out to collect your loot. This advice goes double for inspecting your inventory after a kill. Nothing draws a crowd like a noisy firefight, and staring stupidly at your inventory screen in an open field will make you a prime target.

pubg window

Fences and windows are your enemy. Don’t underestimate them.

Don’t get cocky. There are plenty of times you will have the upper hand in a match, but don’t troll yourself into a death. Vehicles are the biggest perpetrator of overconfidence, but a vehicle doesn’t make you invincible, just faster. But if you aren’t careful, the only thing you will be moving faster to is the grave. Well-timed shots or good spots of cover can easily turn a vehicle into a death trap.

There are lots of things in PUBG that can block your shots, and just because you see an enemy and they don’t see you, it doesn’t guarantee a kill. Fences and windows are particularly notorious for trolling players. Many a player has unloaded a full clip into the dividing bars on windows only to get head shot by the guy they thought they were going to kill.

pubg skins

We want to punch 70’s John Hamm in his face too, but resist the rage.

Getting baited into a fight you can’t win can be just as deadly as over-confidence. While this is especially true for Duos and Squads, it’s just as true in Solo. The biggest difference is that it’s obvious that your opponents will bait you in Duos and Squads, but it still happens in Solos. If you are playing with voice chat, you are particularly susceptible to getting pissed off and making a mistake. Whether they are a foul-mouthed try-hard or a 15-year-old kid, it’s best to ignore them and focus on the gameplay, not the rage.

But for all the trash talking bait, there are plenty of players that hate someone just because of their PUBG skin, and they’ll chase them down to prove a point. We get it. You’ve been trying to get the Military Jacket for weeks and you see another guy flaunting it. That’s rage-worthy enough, but don’t try to gun him down to teach him a lesson. He’s going to be playing normally, and you’re going to be playing with a chip on your shoulder. If you happen to get a kill later, style on him then, but don’t try and force it.

Remember, you will die plenty without helping yourself into the grave. Even Shroud has a 33% win rate, so don’t worry – you’ll die. A lot. Play the game, play smart, and stop giving other people the easy win.
