Rocket League’s Autumn update is packed with cool new features and unlockables. There’s a new seasonal arena on the way, plenty of tweaks to old arenas and a brand new taco rocket trail, which is exactly as awesome as it sounds.

The update rolls out September 28 and comes with both cosmetic and practical changes. 

First up is standardized arenas, something we learned about in a steam post last month. Now Psyonix has now confirmed the details. Starbase arc, Wasteland, Champions Field (Day), Mannfield (Snowy) and DFH Stadium (Day) will all have new standardized variants that will be appearing in Exhibition and Private matches, plus all Ranked Playlists, replacing their alternative counterparts.

There’ll also be a seasonal arena added to the mix this update. It’s called Farmstead, it’s set on a farm and it’ll only be available for a limited amount of time.

Also on the docket is a new unlockable crate and what Psyonix is calling ‘Decryptors.’ The crate is called the ‘Accelerator Crate’ and unlocking one will give you a chance at the “Jäger 619 RS, flashy trails, new goal explosions, or animated wheels.” Decryptors are a new rare item that can be used to “unlock any crate, including the ones during limited-time events”

Speaking of items and unlockables, this update will also include over 90 new free items. The one that we’re most excited for is the rocket trail made of flying tacos, but there’ll also be tons of new toppers and antennas, including an avocado with a face on it called Mrs. Avocado.

Rounding out the rest of the updates are LAN support for everyone, toggleable transparent goalposts, player banners and a new thing called Director Mode. Essentially Director Mode will make it cooler and easier for people to spectate games by using intuitive AI.
