Game Releases

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Switch)

Ever since it was announced at E3, people haven’t been able to stop talking about Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. It was a huge surprise for many reasons, not the least of which was the August release date. Usually when a game is announced at E3, especially a Ubisoft one, fans end up having to wait a while for it to actually release. This time we only had to be patient for a couple short months. The odd crossover is receiving generally positive reviews from fans and critics, both of which praise the games quirky nature and solid mechanics.

ReCore Definitive Edition (Xbox, PC)

The new ReCore: Definitive Edition comes with a whole lot more than what people expected. To start with there’s a new chapter called “Eye of Obsidian” and a new companion named T8-NK Corebot (“Tank”).  Plus 2 New Overworlds and 10 New Dungeons to explore, improved combat mechanics and shorter load times. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, you can read about all the updates here or on the ReCore website. Oh, and the game is also only $19.99, $20 cheaper than the standard edition was at launch.

XCOM 2: War of the Chose (PC, PS4, Xbox)

Just to be clear, XCOM 2: War of the Chosen on  is available for PC now and is scheduled for release on the Xbox One and PS4 Sept. 12.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen adds extensive new content in the fight against ADVENT when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the “Chosen,” emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander. This expansion includes new Hero classes to counter the “Chosen”, new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay.

Sonic Mania (PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch)

This week marks the return of 2D Sonic. The idea behind the game is fan-service at its best. And so far, the reviews have been promising. According to Sega, “This all-new experience celebrates the best of Classic Sonic, pushing the envelope forward with stunning 60 FPS gameplay and pixel-perfect physics.” So get out your Crystal Pepsi and your Mad Catz controller and get ready for the ultimate throwback experience.
