Game Releases

Fifa 18 ( PS4, PC, PS3, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

FIFA is one of the most popular games in the world and FIFA 18 looks to keep the train moving in the right direction. Unlike it’s biggest competitor, PES, FIFA 18 is significantly better than its predecessor. For years PES has almost unanimously been considered the better soccer game, except for the key fact that FIFA has the license to use official team names and logos, PES doesn’t. Thus, FIFA has routinely outperformed what is arguably the better game.

Lately though, FIFA has been closing the gap and FIFA 18 is the culmination of years of fine tuning. This years upgrades might not be the most monumental, but they fix many of the small things, making FIFA 18 a much more enjoyable experience.

Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (Xbox, PC, PS4)

The Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition has been a long time coming. The original game is nearly two years old. It’s gone through its DLC cycle and has been given just about every mod you can imagine. The GOTY Edition comes with just what you would expect: the core game, plus all of the updates and DLC (Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop and Nuka-World).

The good news is you’re also able to purchase a GOTY Pip-Boy Edition. This special special edition comes with the coveted real-life Pip-Boy that can actually be used to play the game, if you have a smartphone that will fit inside it. The GOTY Pip-Boy Edition will cost you $99.99.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (PC, PS4, PS Vita)

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony debuted in Japan back in January, but it’s just now making its way stateside. The game is supposedly ludicrous and tons of fun. You can read its full description below.

Welcome to a new world of Danganronpa, and prepare yourself for the biggest, most exhilarating episode yet. Set in a “psycho-cool” environment, a new cast of 16 characters find themselves kidnapped and imprisoned in a school. Inside, some will kill, some will die, and some will be punished. Reimagine what you thought high-stakes, fast-paced investigation was as you investigate twisted murder cases and condemn your new friends to death.

Cuphead (PC, Xbox)

Xbox fans have been waiting for Cuphead for years (the console has an unfortunately limited number of exclusive titles). The game was created using meticulous techniques, including using hand drawn animation original Jazz recordings. You can read it’s full description below.

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.

Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope has been available as an Early Access game for nearly a year, but the full release only just dropped last week. The game is often touted as one of the more absurdly fun VR titles available today and the full release has hopefully worked out all the kinks the Early Access version endured. You can read a full description of the game below.

Have you ever wondered what it’s really like to be Serious Sam? Have you ever wanted to fight Mental’s alien hordes with your own two hands? Well, now you can! Step into the shoes of the Earth Defense Force’s greatest hero in this unique VR simulation based on Sam Stone’s own log files from his time as captain of the Battlecruiser Saratoga. Experience the missions that turned Captain Stone into the legend that he is today.

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is available on steam now

Patches, Updates, and DLC

Overwatch Patch 1.15.0.2

A new Overwatch patch is here and it’s full of small changes. The most notable is that “Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Temple of Anubis, and Volskaya Industries have been removed from the Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch map rotation, but can still be selected in Custom Games.” Other than that, there’s a few bug fixes and a couple map tweaks, but nothing major. You can read the full Overwatch patch updates here

PUBG Week 26 Update

The biggest news to come out of this PUBG update is that most of the major problems have yet to be fixed. There’s still nothing about post-processing or defaulting players to AS servers, among other common player complaints. However, this patch does fix the “graphic bug that would cause a black box texture to appear while scoped when Anti-Aliasing was set to Low or Very Low in the Settings.” Of course, the game is still in early access, so we can’t expect every bug to be fixed with haste, but hopefully the next update will pack a bit more of a punch.
